Check to make sure there's no sand or grit anywhere in the reel. I dunked my setup in some cloudy water at the One Fly and it did the same thing. I thought it was trashed, but luckily I was fishing with Indsguiz and he figured it out and got it in goot working order again right there on the stream. I'd say disassemble it and give it a thorough rinse down in hot tap water and allow to dry. Give it a thin flim of lubricant on contact parts and see how that works. If you have a spool that fits into the reel with a very low tolerance, even a few grains of sand might be in there, keeping the spool from seating properly.

I had the same thing happen with mine. I think the model was a Magnitude . If I remember right I contacted their Warranty Center and they sent me the new parts at no charge. It has something to do with the roller bearing and sleeve assembly . I know it could be a knuckle buster when it deceided to start fee wheeling. Haven't had a problem after I changed the parts. So you might want to contact them and see if they will send you the parts. No reason why they shouldn't.

If it's the Integrity model, here is what you do.....
Take the reel off the rod. Take the reel apart. Get a 20lb sledge and give it 3 or 4 really hard hits. Fit the reel back together as best you can. Take it out in the driveway and lay it on the ground. Proceed to run it over a half dozen times before continuing on to the sporting goods store of your choice to buy a GOOD reel.
Sorry for the tangent, lol. I had one of those POS and the above solved my problem. Felt good too....

Sorry I can't find any number for them. I do have a address though.

I've been racking my brains out trying to remember how I contacted them with out a number. I just tied googleing them but didn't get much help. I know Cabela's has a reel with the similar drag system and I think they are made by Okuma. Did you go back to the place where you purchased it maybe they can help you. Iv'e had mine a few years now but I'm pretty sure I bought it from Fish USA. Just wondering don't you have the warranty information that came with it? Thats one thing I make sure I keep is all my warranties with the box's they come. Just ask my wife .

I tried to tell people that Okumas are junk but people just dont listen. I want to say "Sorry about your luck" but I just cant. You get what you pay for and you paid for cheap China junk and you wonder why it doesnt last forever. Spend some money and buy it once. Better yet buy American.

This happens to this reel when it gets wet. If you accidently dunk it while changing a fly or tippet the drag screws up. When this happens take the spool off and blow the water out of the drag mechanism. I'm lookin at a reels that claim they have waterproof drags because of this particular problem with the Okuma. The Okuma is a great reel as long as you don't dunk it.
